got myself a rescue fist yesterday. they told me it was a gold severum. needless to say it's not. it's about6-7 inches now. brownish on top whitish on bottom with a bent line from head to tail. with a spot in the middle and on the tail. the fins are orangish. maybe someone out there can recognize this fish? i'd like to give it the best home i can. thanks everyone.

Brown Acara , also gets called a Port Acara , cool fish i have 1 myself . Dont get to big but a good size to go in with most other Cichlids . :)

Was thinking on getting a couple more along with a Blue too . :D

It's one of the port cichlids (Cichlasoma) ... and I would say it's one of the northern clade. It is most likely a black port (Cichlasoma bumaculatum) but could also be C. orinocense. It's one of the two due to the four anal spines.
