Ok got a bit of an odd snake question. I guess technically its an ID need.

When i went to a reptile show a few months ago, there was an interesting snake. A cute litte snake. they looked alot like a corn snake. The breeder claimed that the mother could have many different patterns at once. He had there at least 10 or so different snakes that appeared the same age. all had completely different patterns.

we just got an open 40g(rabbit died :() so we were tryin to figure out a snake for it(wife actually suggested it:headbang2 im a damn lucky man :D)

of course they werent green but if i can breed them and get so many patterns i would be interested. would be cool.

California king snakes come in dozens of color and pattern variations. They are fairly small. If it looked like a corn snake it also could have been an everglades rat snake. There are also hybrids of the two speacies available.

thats what my first thought was too. rat snakes are pretty variable, arent they???

Corn snakes are possible one of the most variable species as far as color morphs go...there are hundreds.... and it seems they are making new ones every week!

King snakes also have quite a few patterns and morphs available to them, the most morph opportunities are most likely with thayeri kings

ball pythons and red tail boas also have hundreds of morphs.

corns and balls def have endless morphs... literally.
i would do a nicuraguan boa in that tank. they stay small but are very pretty and eat like pigs

Milk Snake maybe? Some kind of Kingsnake. They are so cool. Or a Carpet Python, if you can caugh up $170... lol

How small do you think nic boas stay? Bcc and Bci both can get to 12 ft or a bit more. Most boa locals fall into one of those subspecies. a hog island boa would be alright though.

hahaha nics reach about 5-6 ft max those are females
they are a dwarf boa. similar to the dwarf retic..... and they grow extremly slow compared to my columbians or my suriname
not all boas get 12 ft and twelve is really pushin it for even females

If I has an open tank of that size I might look into buying a Spotted Python (Antaresia Maculosa). They are like a big python in a small body.

A dwarf retic is a horrible example as most dwarfs still reach 16ft + and true super dwarfs are hard to come by.
I have never heard of nic's being a dwarf local and everyone I know with em has some decent sized adults similar to columbians however they are all so intermixed these days it is hard to know what you actually have or not.
