:D If anyone has any sweet tank ideas for a south american species tank, 30 gallons at most(maybe more, like possibly 55), please post the set up ideas. Two species I know for sure will have to go in which is Four Silver Hatchets, and Four Veiltail Silver Angels, but let me know what you think and if you have some sweet set up ideas POST AWAY!!! thank you!! ^_^

If you are going to keep Angels, definitely go for the bigger tank. If you wind up with a mated pair, you may have territoriality issues.
A tank planted with lots of dwarf Sag, maybe a sword or two, and tons of vals in the back would look nice, and the angels would love it. Hatchets love company, so a group larger than 4 would be ideal, say as manay as 10. You could also get a group of 6-8 medium tetras like rummys or lemons. Then you'd need some kind of bottom dweller. A group of corys, or better yet 4-5 brochis splendens would be awesome. Or maybe a bunblebee cat or two. They're pretty small and very neat looking.

Hmm... Actually, for all of that, a 75 gal. tank would be best.

If you really are limited to a 30 gal, you might not be able to have angels. If it's a long tank it won't be tall enough for them (needs to be at least 18" tall), and if it's a tall tank, it wouldn't be long enough to provide enough surface area for good water quality, and would limit territories causing aggressiveness and the angels would likely kill each other once they reached maturity. A 30 tall makes a great home for a single breeding pair, and not much else. You might be able to get away with a pair of angels, 4-6 hatchets, and maybe a bristlenose pleco. Plant the tank with more dwarf sag (I love this stuff), maybe some small anubias like coffeefolia or congensis attached to some bogwood, and a few crinium onion plants would be cool.

is this tank really for you and just a way to get another tank since it happens to be your wifes bday?!?
