Hello,

I am a little bit worried that I may have too many fish in my tank.

The setup is as follows:

48"x12"x15" tropical freshwater filtered by 2xfluval 3 internal filters.

Fish - 2x6" yellow hooks, 3x4" SD's, 2x2" spotted dollars, 5x2.5" congo tetras and a 6" synodontis catfish. I am pretty sure that the yellow hooks and catfish have stopped growing.

Please can anyone reasure me that firstly my tank is not overstocked and whether I could add another SD given the amount of filtration?

Thank you in advance.

Your tank is 37 gallons according to the measurements you gave, with that said I would not even have that many (Bigger) fish in there now, let alone add more.

The smaller ones are ok though.

Thanks for repling so soon. I will have to think about which of my stock have to go. :(
get onther tank.

Just upgrade your current tank to a 75 gallon. Twice the gallons you have now and the same length, just wider and taller. You could probably fit it in the same place your current tank is in now and you can sell your current tank to get some of your money back. (maybe all of it if you find a cheap enough 75)

I agree. And if a 75g is still a bit big, try a 50g. But if you can't, just skip the Congos and Syno.
