Hey guys.

Im new to this page but after reading a few threads and comments on here its very clear to see your all very dedicated fish keepers which is cool.

This question is just out if curiosity. Have any of you Americans actually filled your tank with wild cichlids you have caught yourself?

If so, what are the biggest differences between tank bred cichlids to straight from the lake? Do they take long to adjust to being kept in an aquarium? Can you upload pics of some og your fish id really appreciate it.

Here in Ireland the quality of cichlids from stores are poor. Mostly undesireable hybrids kept in poor conditions and terribly overpriced.

Wild caught Africans? I'm not sure that would even be possible to cat h yourself and import them back into the state's. I think customs would have a little something to say about that. It would be incredible though! I have kept wild caught fish and honestly I prefer f1 fish to their wild caught parents. I have had some really nice wild caught but the most amazing fish I've seen with my own eyes have been tank raised fish.
