Wild caught Colombia stingrays, Need ID

Came across these two stingrays in a local aquarium in colombia while visiting a buddy of mine. We're trying to figure out what species of rays these are but not having much luck. Screenshot_20171214-230605.png Screenshot_20171214-230558.png

Thanks spotfin. Looking at some pictures online I think your right. I couldn't find a description about them on the monsterfish sticky discussing the other species, is it because there not very common?

Are they both orbignyi rays granted there patterns look so different? Sorry my buddy is pretty good with tropical fish, but neither of us have really dealt with rays enough to consider ourselves experts by any means

yes, both are Orbs. They could be considered "common" as they are usually available under various names. There is great variation in color/shading/pattern among ray species.

Thanks again. I've been reading up on the species. That was a big help. Are they considered as "valuable" as Motoro rays? Just skimming through ebay there are some pricy Motoro rays but no orbs being sold or traded
