Wild Caught Fish

Go back far enough and they are all wild caught.

Guess you might have to leave this hobby.

If it weren't for wildcaught fish then fishkeeping wouldn't be what it is today. Most of the fish that people get wildcaught are either hard to breed in captivity or are much hardier/better-looking when they are wildcaught. And although we are taking them from their ideal habitat and putting them into a not quite so nice habitat, they usually learn to adapt. In certain ways, it is even better for them being in captivity, because the risk of predators and certain diseases/parasites goes way down.

Is your real name King Solomon? :screwy:
LOL...The fact is that most fish in the hobby are captive bred and most of them, not even in their country of origin. There are still some fish that have not been bred yet but they are nowhere near the bulk of what gets bought and sold.

but in the wild it is survival of the fittest if they can not escape the pred it gets eaten. That is the way it works. it is up to them to find food survive and reproduce. In home aquaria it is up to us and some people can not handle it.

So what is your issue with it ?

You'd rather it gets killed and eaten in the river rather then live in your tank.
