Okay I have someone in Florida that sells just cichlids and I asked him of he knew anyone you sold Florida gars near him he said be can catch me a wild caught one and sell it to me for $30 bucks should I do it

I'm not sure if that's legal without a permit. I know that the laws vary from state to state, so you'll need to look into that before proceeding as you don't want to violate state & federal laws over a $30 fish after all.

Provided that it is legal, I would get it at that price provided that it's not some dinky baby gar rather it's at least 8" long or larger.

Not that this says anything about the legality, but I've heard a couple of MFKers talk about picking gars up right out of canals in FLA and keeping them. I imagine resale would have a whole slew of different legislation, though.
