Do you guys think it would be ok to feed my piranhas a frog that I caught from a local stream? I have heard that they eat frogs in the wild but should i or should i not drop the frog in my tank for them?

there's potential that some frogs may carry some parasites, not sure how those will effect your fish but could be a concern. personally I wouldn't do it.

I wouldn't do it either but I don't see a problem with it if you decide to do it yourself either. You're taking a risk of parasite anytime you introduce live that hasn't been treated but that's your choice.

Alrighty then I just won't do it thanks the the advice guys!

Howdy,

Good call. Also in light of the global amphibian decline

I was gonna feed my bichirs wild caught frogs and tadpoles...never thought much about pesticides, but mine are caught from high mountain lakes and creeks. Maybe i'll just scrub them real good, chances are I run a higher risk of parasites feeding them store bought frogs anyway.
