Hey everybody. I know im new here and I dont want to annoy anybody by posting to much. But I want to show off my male notatus. I absolutely love this fish. He is definitely my prized possession. Great colors and a great personality. Cant wait till he gets bigger :). He has a female is housed with. They spawned once so far but its still a love hate relationship

Really nice!

IME the love/hate thing can go on for a while with newish severum pairs, almost like an adjustment period in a marriage. IME some pairs will settle down and be really good together and some just continue to have their occasional spats with each other. At first it would aggravate me, a severum pair fighting or fussing with each other, especially when nearing a spawn, but I eventually realized it's just part of the deal with some pairs.

You may already know all this, so just commenting on my experience.

LOL... Good thing I added that qualifier. :)

Sometimes you're just trying to be helpful, but you don't know what someone knows already. First time I ever had sevs pair up I was really aggravated at their 'fighting' and actually separated them, lol. Wasn't till a few years later I understood it's part of the process.

Yours look similar to those available at Wetspot right now. For the first time in years, I've been without sevs for a few years.... been missing them so I'm looking for some, just a matter of making some tank space and selecting between those available, so debating between their notatus and the efasciatus ‘Tapajos’ Jeff Rapps has.

How big are yours?
