Wild Caught Peruvian Oscar vs. Petco Oscar

Thanks. Don't know what's come over me and this recent obsession with Oscars. Got a wild one last month and ordered another half dozen from Rapps today.... then stumbled across two from Petco while getting a couple essentials. I'll give it a month and weed them out.Nice! Nice 100x! Where the pic of the petco oscar tho? J/K
Petco is a huge chain of Pet Shops selling everything from hermit crabs to dog food. I NEVER buy fish from there because more times than not, their fish are disease infested and or hybrids of some sort. BUT these two caught my attention while browsing so I'll give them a month and see how they turn out.
Wild caught isnt always better looking, just because at that size one of them shows blue doesn't mean its the wild caught one.
as bad as people say petco is, I've seen a few threads where people have got fish that turned out to be absolutely stunning from Petco.
Its going to be interesting seeing them grow up along side eachother! please keep us updated.

Looks like they are all WILD caught. Hmmmmm.... since I know what the Jeff Rapps ones look like, the ones with the bluish tint are from petco! hehe. very very nice. looking forward to updates!!
I like the wild oscars but to be honest they are not as friendly as the watered down oscars from petsmart. The wild oscar seems less of a puppy dog than the average oscar you get from your local peststore.
The Oscars with the green-ish sheen are the Petco ones. The wilds are the somewhat bland ones.... and from Rapps. I have another WC Oscar that I purchased from another member, also thru Rapps and it has literally doubled in size in the last three weeks. It's not a "puppy dog" yet but definitely begs for food, also a bit bland in color also at 4"-4.5".
