I have a 12/13 inch wild caught silver, very pretty, thick, lots of pink and blue, no drop eye. He's also very aggressive for a silver.

Beat up my Cuban Gar and Cobra snakehead, which are now seperated from him, and I decided to temporarily keep the aro with a loisellei, a JD and a papyrocranus afer.

First few days nothing happened then yesterday I woke up and the loisellei was hammered. Only half a tail left, half a dorsal fin left, and marks on both sides, cut gill plate etc.

The JD's fins were a bit torn up but not as bad as the loisellei.

The loisellei is a beefy 7 inches. I'm quite surprised, the loisellei is a tough fish. He was previously fronting to the aro etc, the aro must have got pissed off and hammered him.

Has anyone else noticed aggression with silvers they know are wild caught?

I'm afraid I might not ever be able to keep my precious Manjuari with this aro.

i have a wild caught aro....hes aggressive at some times...sometimes hes very gentle and calm...he never picks on any of my fishes.....your aro is the devil!!! lol jk

This all depends on an individual aros temperment. I have seen very docile ones that co exist with neon tetras then there are those that would kill everything in sight even feeders when it's not hungry. No doubt yours is quite aggresive from your description.

My 2 aros arent wild caught they are together with my CK...But they are agressive as hell they dont permit any tankmate and kill whatever I put in with them even if its not small enough for them to eat...I think the aros beat them from above and the CK finishes them don below or vice versa...

I got a wild but had him from about 6" or so he is very mellow never even made an escape attempt even with the tops off.

No pics sorry, I don't have a digital camera, only a 35mm and medium format.

I might get a digicam soon.

But to be honest this thread is not about pics, it's about wild silver aggression, I want to know if anyone else has had wild silvers, and if they were mean.
