I've owned and seen a few wild-caught midas and they look a good bit different from the tank-raised-for-several-generations midas. Other than being very shy, sometimes, wild-caught midas have almost no hump and a very evenly-sloped, yet blocky, head. You see these tank-raised monsters with huge humps and great big, almost concave heads. Is it just selective breeding? If so, where are the few wild-caught males that have huge humps that are chosen to sire the future generations of the big-headed monsters?

I have some f2s that were line bred for big head. Don't think the f0's had any hump but the f1's were culled for big head. I just took 5 random f2s and 3/5 have pretty big heads.

heres a male at 4-5"

I could care less about big head but these 2 are perfect for my tastes. I don't think you find big humps in the wild though.

According to Rapps there are a few F0s with hump buts I've never seen one. I've own a couple of F0 midas but I pretty F1 and tank bred. They're more out going and tend to have a body shape I like.

Are those supposed to be F2 labs or cits?
