wild caught

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Give it the right requirements, and I don't see why not. Just make sure it doesn't have any parasites and/or sick.

I see them at LFS's around here all the time. Its a fish not a herp though...you will get a better response in the general, or brackish fish section.

i cant find it in any LFS here...
i might want to ask some kids to catch them for me..
I live in Indonesia, what kind of mudskipper might it be?

I'm not sure... problably a Gold-spotted mud skipper. And yes you need a pool for it. Like in their names Mud skipper, so you probably want to use mud... Actuly if I were you I would just go out were you caught it and collect some mud and drift wood, and you should test the water in that area and then try to mimic that out of water from HOME, And like stated brfore they prefer brackish water, so add some salt to it.
And yes they are a fish, so they would be better if they had more water than land.

Agree with the last post, they will still need an aquarium, just with modifications so that there would be land portions

Moved to brackish section.

If you live there, have a look at their environment, and try to recreate it in the tank. Very interesting and rewarding fish to keep.

Since I am not aware of these fish being bred in captivity, all of them are wild-caught.

Everything goes through you then?

davescube- mud=messy. I personally don't use sand because it's a pain in the ass to clean- I couldn't imagine what you would even have to do to "mud" for one of these guys. Something to think about down the road with water changes and aquascaping. Good luck!
