Not too long ago I came across some great looking duckweed growing along the side of nice pond so I took some home to seed a growbed with and feed some to my fish.....now I have a big time snail infestation and am trying to decide how to deal with it. Next time I will grow the duck weed myself and screen it for any snails before I introduce it to my fish tanks.

The problem is those snail get in everything...pipes, filter...everywhere. I have none in the actual fish tank! I believe that the only way to totally rid the system of them is to do a complete tear down and totally clean out everything.

I read on some website that if you cut off your aeration for a short period of time (obviously not too long where you would have fish casualties) that all the snails will come to the surface of the water on the glass where you can scoop em out. If they are in the pipes and filters that sounds like a headache and a half.
