Here is an updated vid of what I think is a forming pair. I had posted some questions and vids before but I got a better light on the tank so a better vid was in order. I will get some pics too. They still get along pretty good...he chases her every now and then (to be expected) and they are still skittish. I think because they are the only one in the tank (55g) for now. I will move them to a 125 in a month or so and I will have either silver dollars or tinfoil barbs in there to make them a little more comfy and outgoing.

I'll update this thread as they go along...hopefully with some spawning action :D

Thanks everyone I really want a spawning pair of these...I absolutely LOVE them and am dying to see what sort of breeding colors they have.

I still have 2 8-9" females and one 8-9" male. Now that the male is all healed from that last thrashing the larger female gave him I will try to pull the divider again. This time I might take the larger female out and see if he takes to the smaller one. Last time I left all three and the smaller female was getting beat by both so i pulled her. The male lasted one night and ended up looking like this

I'm nursing one back to health from the little wild pair I got from Dan Ye too. Had nearly no back fins left, but she's eating and fins are coming back. If you ever want to get rid of one of those big females or try pairing one up w/ my 8in male, let me know bro.

Nice :) I haven't tried to breed mines, they are doing very well in my community tank, they don't really have time to conscentrate on each other. I guess I am satisfied as long as they are doing well, although it would be nice to see fry...

Yeah the female in question already killed a male smaller than her and the current male is slightly smaller than her too. Sounds like yours might be too but maybe if I end up with a pair of these three we can do something with the extra lady. My male had almost no side fins after they fell off...he just kinda wobbled in the current for days...so lucky.

I know the WOBBLE that you speak of. I've had the same troubles but I love this species too. My grow outs are coming along nicely.
