yup why not
i used to catch wild feeders they were tuffies
used to Qt them for like 2 weeks before i gave them to my cats

i have 4 holding tanks for them
i never buy feeders
and wild ones are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better then ones from a lfs

Hey just out of the blue...but where can I get those "Tuffies" you guys are talking about? Can i catch them in California or is their any place that sells them?

its fine, I go out to local pond next to my house and catch wild green mollies, keeters, and grass shrimp by the dozens every week. Then qt for a week and feed

There is always a risk.. Though most of us that feed live in my opinion still risk it.

oka then but they are mosquito fish and am treating with a antiparasite medication an gutloading is that enough or should i do something else?

i just put in a Q tank then use as needed
after you net in the same spot you will see if anythings wrong with them
most likely they will be fine
like i said,its not like a lfs
ive netted thousands and thousands of minnows and maybe 3 have had a white growth
and thats it
you might lose some from the move/temp change,but i dont think you have to worry to much on anything else
