It baffles me to see true wc hybrids. If it's cichla, rays or whatever it never ceases to amaze me. So let's see those pics of wild rays that hybridize. Preferably pics taken in the wild.

I'm pretty sure this is one. Pic taken off ig.

I have no pics but i love the thread, I actually spoke extensively with Richard Ross on the subject this weekend at the MFK Kon. He absolutely believes hybridization happens in the wild much more than we believe and showed me some pics of wild rays that he has only seen one of over 20 plus years of studying them.

I was just about to say it looks like Motoro to me too but i see a couple of folk thought that already - any one else have an idea on what it could be? Gangster is there any comments on IG to suggest they think it's X crossed with X

No it just didnt look motoro to me.
But I dont own any rays. And dont know a whole lot about them.
TO me it looked more like motoro x blackie...The spots just have a different color.
So I guess its just a unique motoro.
WOuld love to see some more pics....

Great thread gangster. Why can they happen in a tank and not in the wild? I understand the river systems can be different and what but overall its possible and lets not forget invasive species of people introducing fish into areas.

This ray was recently showed and stated as being wild caught, but of course no real proof to say so. Too many people say they are wild when they really are not. One of the first things I noticed was the tail spines on this ray. Did anyone else notice? Definitely hybrids are hard to tell when they are bread back to almost make them pure blood and at some points they might be impossible to see some of the little key traits that are usually more visable. Too bad the web is lacking tons of pictures of wild rays other then the giant rays
