Are these Oreochromis niloticus? If not what exaclty are they. Would like to read up on them before buying. Thanks

Here are some pictures of what they will look like when they grow up..

The last few pics you posted look like Oreochromis niloticus, the first few of the actual fish look like O. mossambicus.

Nice fish. Easy to keep, feed and breed. :)

Hi SalmonAfrica - I apologize for going off topic here (and I'm a noob too!). I am desperately trying to find some O. Mossambicus to restock a pond. I used to have a number of someone that bred them commercially somewhere to the west (Hillcreast? Pinetown? Can't remember!) but can't find it.

I m sure about 20 fingerlings would be fine, although it is winter now so there may be a high mortality rate. I got rid of all mine about 10 months ago, only kept two large males (3kg and 3.5kg), but would now like to help a mate to stock a farm pond in Hluhluwe this weekend.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks,
nicos
