Hey guys
im planning on getting 2 15cm wild caught senegals for my 25 gallon.
im going to keep them with a pair of breeding blood parrots.
btw im only going to keep them in there for about half a year or a year.
what should i feed them? i have a piece of driftwood they can hide in.
should i put in another hiding place?
Tank dimensions-90*30*35
Substrate-yellowish whitish fine sand

Get them on a good brand of pellets and Tilapia. Just type in what to feed Polypterus using the search bar above you will read several post on what some members prefer to feed their Polys from juvies to adults. Welcome to the Poly world.

Btw i was wondering, how good does the filteration have to be? I currently have 1 sponge filter and 1 internal filter running: my hob filter broke..:(

Check your water parameters with a test kit such as API Freshwater test kit and do weekly water changes and you should be fine until you get another HOB filter.

even with a h.o.b still do what tlindsey says. they are gross polluters. I have a large sponge filter, a powerhead with sponge filter and a fluval 406 canister on my 55g with 5 bichirs and I still do weekly 30% water changes.

K i'll do that.
Is a sponge filter, a internal filter, and a hob filter ok then?
