Wild snail

Went to the lake today and found these four guys (and a couple of FL clams) they definality have trapdoors and when I went to take pictures they were happily exploring the holding tank (possibly tomorrow ill release them into the tank when I get to my moms house. So heres the pics!!!:grinno:

o and um wat should I do i really dont have a holding tank it cracked :( how do i tell if they have nematodes?? I looked at them through the holding tank and they dont have anything externally?
 
Certainly quarantine for a few weeks before introducing them. Whatever you have to use for quarantine, use it. If you add them now and all your fish die, you'll be wishing you'd just killed the snails where you caught them.
 
Most snails don't attack fish. That would be quite the feat. Unless they are after eggs or fry.

Look at their poo for signs of parasites. The quarantine tank will also start growing intermediate stages of parasitic creatures. Then you get to dig around for several days on the internet before realizing that there really isn't any good resource for identifying the weird worms or swimmers in your tank.

What I would do is find a healthy, tank-bred guppy from a friend or craigslist and keep him with the snails for a few weeks. If he's fine and pooping normally then the odds are in your favor of the snails being clean enough for aquarium life. Are you sure this species of snail can survive at tropical temps? Or is this a native tank?
