I dont know how they are illegal when you can catch them like crazy. I know in Virginia in the potomac region, you can go there with a net and catch hundreds of northern snakeheads a day...its sad really because all they do is kill them :/ If you catch them in the wild they should be legal to own!

Mate i know it's fustrating,,however they should not be there in that invoiroment, they are an alien specie's which the local nature cannot cope with, in there natural habit everything is counter balanced, intoducing these fish into the waterways is anialating the local fish species,sometimes 100%.....It is therefore illegal to own a snakehead in the usa now because of a careless few who ruined it for everyone...If you catch one your required to do you bit by killing it, it is illegal to release it back,

these species have no natural predators so therefore they will kill everything in the united states water regions thats why they are illegal, and also they breed easily

I think the people that made the law should be stripped and thrown into a lake full of hungry snakeheads. We destroy the ecosystem by choice, these little fellers just do what nature intendid them too.It's not there fault they rule the fresh waters.

lols thats why there illegal. i guess the ban was a day late, dollar short to do anything here. but there trying to prevent that from happening in other states
