Its currently sitting on them filled up, hoping the seals don't break. Don't have any plywood or anything to put down underneath it but if I have to I can sneak two more cinderblocks under the tank. The dimensions of the tank are 48"x12"x17" otherwise known as a 40gallon long.

i supported a 90 on cinder blocks.... think about it this way....they hold up a house;)

The blocks are strong enough to hold. The problem is if the tank is sitting flat or not. I would get something flat to put between the tank and blocks. Just go to Menards and buy a single bookshelf. They are not that expensive.

as long as four corners are supported itll be safe.
even on tanks up to 8' long believe it or not.
four level corners will workk better than any store bought stand.

This is good to know since none of my tanks set up to look pretty anyways.. I wish I had some wood to throw under there to be safe but The cinder blocks are longer than the tank so one cinderblock supports each side, and I've got one in the middle to support that.

had a 44 on blocks like in post 6

All my 55s are on "Corner Only" stands

* Recommend adding 1 inch thick foam between the blocks & tank or plywood & 1/2 inch foam.
you dont need that much

When wheels get stolen of cars the theif's of the wheels use cinder block and only two cinderblock for each axle.
I think your good. Put a piece of plywood on top of the cinderblocks and should be fine.
