Hello

So i just rescued a florida gar its 1 foot long.

I want to house it in a 220g that i have running.
the only problem is that i have a Aligator gar in there at the moment

So do you think the 12" florida gar will the eat the 5" aligator gar.

Thank you for your time and input

hell yeah! dats a snack..

You will be surprised what they will eat. I threw a small4" koi in for my big bass once and a 10" gar ate it and spent the next hour swallowing it, I was kinda horrified by that

Can go either way. I have had even larger size differences with some of my gars without any problems. 12-15" gars with a couple 5-6" floridas. I would not suggest mixing them.

I would suggest getting a 15 or 20 gallon and putting the gator in there for a couple weeks. Given how fast gators grow it will be a safe size with the florida in no time.
