Hello, i have and old 120 gallon tank i got up and running last week, yesterday i went to the store to purchase the fish, i got myself 3 blood parrots, two of them 3 inch the other 4 inch, along with a 2.5 inch red devil/midas, also there was a special on jack dempsey so i picked one up to see how itd work its 3inches. will there be a problem with the fish getting along?

I wouldn't support Blood Parrots or other intentionally bred deformities in the hobby. I would take them back and go Au Naturale w/ wild-type fish.

A lot of these deformities go further than skin-deep and can have deformed, underdeveloped organs and short life spans

I understand what your saying, but I've had parrots live comfortably for years and years, but then again I'm a hybrid guy myself

In my experience RD/Midas/midevils are okay until they get to the 4-5 inch range and start becoming sexually mature. Once this happens, the aggression levels will go up and all bets are off. My adult male midas will not tolerate other amphilophus looking fish in his 125, but leaves convicts and silver dollars alone.

Agreed.
You'll know sooner than later if the amph is gonna be a problem.

Okay well thanks for the advice, ive seen the aggression level go up at 4-5inch in them before, i just figured that in a bigger tank like a 120 theyd have room to get away. so far if anything the parrots chase the red devil more than anything

Maybe for a little while you'll be ok with a tank that big but I don't know about long term.
Blood parrots aren't the fastest fish so when the red devil wants to take a shot at them he's gonna hit them. Maybe he won't kill anyone but I think he'll make th lives of the blood parrots kinda miserable lol
