Hey everyone!

found a 120G tank on craigslist in my area comes with an overflow.

Pre drilled, Oversized 1500 gal per hour overflow, 1 1/2" overflow drain, (2) 1 inch returns, 48"x 24" x 24",

Its a sweet tank but i was wondering if i could use a 20 gallon tank as the sump...

2 Questions:
what kinds of pumps would i need for this?
Would the 20 gallon tank work as a sump?

Thanks!!!

Anyone

Yeah, I'd go bigger with the sump, but if the 120G is a good price, get the tank and you can always get a larger overflow tank, that's easy. I have a 40 gallon overflow on my 150.

The smaller the sump, the bigger the headache.
Keeping such a small vessel in balance with your tank will take extra work on your part.
Work, that if not done can have bad consequences.
Double the sump size and you will enjoy the system so much more.
Is the 20g just because you have one?
Is that the only size that will fit in your stand?

i was just wondering the 20 gallon because i had it. But I gonna custom build a stand for it so i could use anything. Can any of u recomend what i should use for the sump then tank size and pumps?

i use an eheim 1262 for my return pump with a rubbermaid 50g stock tank for my sump with my 120g.
