Hi,

I have a fully setup 125 gallon tank that I am going to take down to move to a smaller 55 gallon tank inside the house. The 55 gallon tank that I got comes without a stand (got it on craigslist for $15) and I was wondering if I could put it on my 125 stand without any breaking?

The 125 is a wrought iron stand with 2 plywood boards over it (the 55 gallon would go over the 2 boards).

Here is a pic of the 125:

If the footprint isn't the same (which is probably the case) I wouldn't do it. These stands are designed to support a tank at specific points.

the stand will hold just fine it is if the boards will hold because there will be no mettle under the 55 gallon, just wood
i think it would hold but idk

I could trade you a 55 stand for the 125, if you were in my area. I'm getting a 125 in Dec. if all goes well.

just make sure its supported around the edges (trim),or if its acrylic, under whole tank. you might use a piece of plywood to skirt the top.. make sure to use good 5-8 to 3-4 in p/w
