Menifee, socal
I am looking at adopting a 13" Oscar out of a 65g tank but I have a 4-5" Green Phantom Pleco.

Will the Oscar bother the pleco?

I think I am going to pass, the oscar has been fed feeders all its life and I cannot risk losing the pleco.

Thanks guys.

Well seeing you added that part, feeding feeders seems to give oscars a different personality, which I never fed mine feeders.
So in that case I would say you are smart in deciding to wait.

Yea she just e-mailed me saying it has been given feeders for three years :irked:. I guess I already knew they would try eat anything they think they can get into there mouths. I just needed to ask.

Thanks.

you would be able to do it because oscars are all talk so i would try it and i notice that some smart oscars wont mess with the other fish knowing its not a feeder fish

I'd say it wouldn't matter much if it had eaten feeders before or not, when my oscars were about 6" I got 2 3-4" common plecos and within a day both of them had been eaten and I had never given them live food before. Any Oscar I'd ever had seemed to think anything in the tank that they can put in their mouth was their food.
