Want to use a 55 gal as a sump for my 150. The stand is 72x18x30something

The opening is 29 3/4 high x 29 3/4 wide 18 deep

Trying to find a 55 off clist but dont wanna go through the hastle if there is a chance it wont fit. I have a 30 gal laying around that i can use instead

No, it wont fit. I have a 55 under my 180g and the only way to fit it in was remove the top middle support and place the sump through the top.

This does work, but makes sump maintenance an obvious pain in the ass. I wanted a large sump so I thought it was worth it.

A 55 is 12x48x21. It might fit if you put in before the tank is in place.

I am using a 55 as the sump for my 220 and I am thinking that I will have to put it in before I put the 220 on top. I am going to modify my stand a little bit to raise it about 8" and beef it up so I should have some decent clearance over the top of it.

Fish are in the tank so 30 gal it is

a 30 should be plenty as long as you are planning some crazy stocklist anyway!

Nah just a pearsei, 3 polys and a small l200

Let me know how the DC pump goes. My Rio 20HF is loud as hell and would love an excuse to replace it.

Will do i have the smaller dct 6000 seems ok so far

To fit my sump I left out the rear center upright until the stand was next to its destination then slid in the sump, attached the upright, and slid the stand in place using furniture moving pads.
