I have a 4" African knife and a 5" clown knife I was hoping to put both in my 80 so I can grow them out to go in my bigger tank I was just wondering if they would get along? And what's best to feed them at this size? looking for some good healthy growth. Thanks for your help

They'll will be fine temporarily. Knives have a problem getting along. Even different types. The clown will eat the African knife really quick once bigger or pick on him enough and die form stress. Don't put them together. My opinion. One will lose and likely not the clown knife. They aren't too picky. My guy eats (African) eats flakes, tubifex, massivore, and frozen fish cut up. Should be same for the clown.

Thanks for your answer. You don't think they will do ok together while they are similar sizes? Was thinking I would put them together for a short time to get food to both and get them out of the tanks they are in so they don't have to try as hard for their share of the food but could separate as soon as the clown starts to out grow the African. still don't think it's a good idea?

I have had multiple knives together before and I always had to split them up. One would pick on the other. Can always keep a small pvc pipe and let the African hide. The clown will usually stay out. Will eventually split them up as the size difference will force the issue.
