I was wondering if a cage 54" long would be good enough for an adult female blood python?

Thanks

If it were me, I'd supply at least a 7' x 24" x 18" enclosure, for an adult female.

Do you know if it is sumatran, bornoe, malasian, or black? Should be good enough for a borneo or black. The cage should also be at least 2 ft wide. They are really heavy bodied and need the width.

I don't know the locality of subspecies yet. But I would like to largest type. The cage is 36 inches wide. Ive always wanted one of these. Well I had one and it was a Borneo Shorty, but it had IBD and killed everything I had.:irked:

Thanks

Wow your IBD case is what i just went through:swear: it sucks b/c there isnt anything you can do.

Mlaysian is the biggest out of the species. The catch is they also can have the biggest attitude. If you go malaysian also make the seller prove the local. This is usually the hardest to find out of all the locals. I do not have experience with them myself first hand, but maybe someone else does. They may be able to answer questions better on temperment and cage size. http://media.photobucket.com/image/malaysian%2Bblood%2Bpython/MasterTurtle65/Bloods/IMG_5554.jpg
I found this link to what a male can look like. I know I have seen full grown pics on kingsnake but I can not find them right now.

Alright thanks. I will look for a dark red and beige snake with a black head when I go to the expo. I would like a nice calm one so, I'm defenatly going to behandling it before I buy it. I might get a sumatran, their nice to.

Thanks
