Will a less-than-inch-long Mosquitofish get sucked into a Cascade 600 internal?

^ The Mosquitofish are both adults but were stunted from me being retarded 2 years ago, so they are just under an inch. Rather than keeping a 5g tank running just for 2 tiny fish, would it be safe for them if I just tossed them into my 30g? None of the fish can harm them, I'm just worried about the filters.

Are the grills on the filter intake tube wide enough that the fish could get sucked up into the filter, or would it just get stuck to the filter? If they can physically get sucked into it, I would do it, If they cant I would think its fine.

Nope, no way they can fit into the openings, so I put 'em in. There's a huge driftwood pile in the tank, so even if I misjudged something, they should be fine.

I just found one dead sticking out of the filter grate :wall: I am so incredibly pissed at my dumb ass right now, I wanna throw a chair through the window... I can't find the other one, either. I have had these Mosquitofish for over 2 years and they were born in my room, so I was very attached to them... UGHH **** me :irked:

Sorry for your loss. Are you sure the filter is to blame? How well maintained are both tanks? It is possible that the water parameters were just very different and the fish didn't survive the move?

ouch that's rough man, sorry for your loss

That's pretty much impossible with Mosuitofish. You could pretty much shoot one with a gun and it wouldn't die.
