will a lip grow back on a flowerhorn?

tryed pairing up two flowerhorn. the male was alittle bigger but the female still beat him up an ripped the top middle piece of his lip off. will it grow back? he looks kinda funny now lol. But he's fine still eating like a pig. Just wondering if it will gow back and did it ever happen to anyone else. thanks
 
It's a permanent damage. Dose Melafix and do water changes until the wound heals.
 
No that is not a permanent damage. That has happened to my flowerhorns before in a breeding project gone bad too. It WILL GROW BACK. Just give it a few months, I know they look really dorky with no lips and teeth sticking way out but it will grow back. mines always did.
