I have a nice sized plastic planter pot (probably about a foot wide at the bottom, and a couple feet high) and a smaller sized clay pot, probably about a foot and a half wide and maybe a foot high that I want to use to grow floating water plants in such as duckweed or water sprite, or water lettuce, but I was wondering, since it gets to be over 100 degrees some days and the average being in the high 90s, will it be too hot to leave the "pond" in an area of almost total sunshine all day? In addition, I might want to add some mosquito fish to prevent mosquito larvae from growing since there will be no filtration unit other than the plants, so still water basically; and to provide waste for the nitrogen cycle. Will this work?
