I have never had one and not sure if the spikes are spikey enough to scratch the heck out of acrylic? Does anyone have any experience?

Thanks

So far, I've only heard of large plecos being able to do it (look at Fugupuff's first page first post; Marketplace forum, "Rare fish" sticky), and I am not sure if all kinds of large ones would do it.

I am quite curious too to hear on the topic.

Slight derail, but I've heard of dovii and umbees doing it with thier teeth, but havent witnesses it. I have to imagine anything much softer than that wouldnt do damage at all

The spines and scutes on doradids are most definitely bone and very hard. They are just covered by skin. :)
