Will any bulb work??

Will any bulb such as a T5 work in a common plastic light strip that you can buy at walmart or petsmart? The reason I'm asking is because I was thinking of purchasing a new 48 coralife dual light strip for my tank. But I found a common twin light strip for much cheaper and was wondering if I could just use one regular fluorescent bulb and a T5.

Wouldn't see why you can use any t-5 light strip.The t5 bulbs are much slimmer then the reg fluorescent bulbs.

Kinda unclear exactly what you're asking, but T5 lamps will not work in T8/T12 fixtures and vice versa.
