i have an australian arowana about 5-6 inches and the only food i have for it is freeze dried lankton because i dont have time to go to the fish store every week.
i put a lot of the said food in the tank so he/she can see it but i rarely see it go up to eat =(
could it be because it doesnt eat freeze dried plankton at all?
or mabye its not hungry?
or is the water circulation too pwerful on the surface?
please help me i just boguht this lttle fella for 40 bucks and i dont want him to die like my silver did

how long have you had this jardini?tempature?size of tank? any tankmates?

Mine has always refused freeze dried foods.
When it was little I fed it pellets because i kept it with some Koi. Then I moved on to chunks of frozen prawn and finally onto whole prawns.
I find that the easiest way to get a fish to take pellets is to put it in with fish who are already eating pellets. When the hungry fish sees its tank mates eating they are apt to join them.
If push comes to shove you could always try it on feeders, although some people object strongly to this.

First you have to get a WAY bigger tank, Arowanas grow really fast. The jardini wont get as big as you silver would but still u need to get a bigger tank

At the size the fish is now, his 75 gal tank is not going to be causing feeding issue is it?
Sure Arowanas grow real quick (although Jardinis are not as quick as silvers) and he's going to need a bigger tank but not for a couple of months. Maybe longer if he can;t get it to eat right ;)

OP which method of feeding suggested are you going to try first?
