Will Bass Eat Bass?

Hi All,

Apologies if this is somewhere obvious int he forums but I did a search and couldnt see anything...

Basically I have a 10" Ocellaris bass and have the opportunity to get 10 x 2-3" of the same bass for next to nothing... was just wondering if the bigger bass would eat them if I put them int he same tank? I'm assuming they would? I just know when it comes to Dat's bigger dat's ignore smaller dat's, doubt it's the same for Cichla though

Yeah i tried this with Ocellaris and the smaller one was eaten straight away

Eeeegh. Do not mix them!

Even if they get large enough to not eat, you still gotta worry about them getting beaten up if there are any disagreements over dominance. 7" were too small to introduce to my (at the time) 15". I had better success when they were closer to 9-10", but they still took some lumps!

ya dont do it larger bass will eat anything that fit in its mouth even each other

No problems, I assumed this was the case, just checking... better sort myself a grow out tank

just out of curiosity... what size growout tank would you recommend to grow 10 x bass out to 8" or so?
