I've been looking into various insect products my fish will eat consistently. Biggest problem I've encountered is that most of them are mid level or bottom feeders, and the insect products float even after soaking. I have some canned crickets I will see if my O Brick will eat (he refused them months ago but his tastes change like weather).

There's a product out of freeze dried whole earthworms I plan to try! Instructions say to soak an hour before feeding.

Will give an update when they arrive and how it goes!

I bought some of those leather shoe laces I mean freeze dried earthworms didn't go over very well but my fish aren't

Ive been using aquatic foods inc. mixed pellets as a staple in my tanks for a couple years now. I think they make a good product. Fish are always excited to eat and never leave any behind. Dont cloud the water and the fish show solid, healthy growth.

I'm feeding Fluval Bug Bites, and the are slow sinking.

I have a few different Aquatic Foods products coming early next week.

LOL cute lil' chubber! Does it take long to get that big worm down?

He probably munched on that one for 10 minutes. That was about 20 mos ago and Felix is probably 30 mos now. He was almost 10" in this photo & he's over 11 " long now.

Update

The worms were a HIT! :grinyes: My fish fought over them like crazed crackheads. My O Brick tried to eat it all and had a "smoking head" while he ate. One thing I noticed was that one side of the worms would hydrate and be soft like a live worm. the other side would stay much firmer, like soft shell crab.

The instructions say soak an hour. I soaked them all day. Recommend cutting them up when dry before soaking. Next time I will try boiling water to see if that softens the casings better.

Beef Jerky for fish, lol. The finished up with the large Bug Bites, gulping them down like Big Macs.
