I got some Polypterus endlicheri recently from a LFS and most of them has spotted belly pattern. I was told that there is no way the spotted belly markings will remain as the endlicheri grows bigger. Only those endlicheri with stripped belly marking will retain it marking as it grows bigger.

How true is this saying? Wil the spots of my endlicheri fades as it grows? I have posted some pictures for reference and examination. Please feel free to comment. :)

So far this myth has been busted for me. My endli is about 7" right now and the spots on the belly are still there. Either way it's still a nice looking endli belly spots or not.

That's good news for me.:D I was worried that it will fade away and would lost some of its appeal when I brought it. The next thing is to keep them till big and prove to the person who sell it to me wrong.

Will post update of them in the near future.
