Will cichlids nip the trailers?

Hey guys, I was interested in getting an adonis pleco for my tank, but I was concerned that the cichlids I have might bite off or nip at the trailers. The cichlids are gold severums and geophagus surinamensis.
What do you think?

They might... My Adonis loses its trailers every month or so in his fights with a larger L264. They grow back in a few days though.

could go either way. ive seen people keep fantastic trailers with geos, but not to sure about the severums. like wyldfya said though, either way they'll grow back
