will crenichicla starve themselves to death? i cant get these guys to take pellets for anything.

I personally have not known of any pikes to starve themselves to death but that doesnt mean it wont happen.

what type of creni. i've only kept 2 but they all took pellets. my WC took flakes on the first try. my sveni was a little harder. for the longest time the only thing she would eat was FD krill.

what were you feeding? feeders?

market shrimp. one is a cincta and the other is some sort or sax...

Generally no, but they CAN kill themselves by eating too much.

If you are trying to get them onto pellets though you should still give them supplemental foods to make sure they are still eating some. Some pikes never make the switch, which is fine cuz there are tons of other awesome foods that they WILL eat. ;)

i have 1 two spotted pike cichlid
1 baby johanna pike cichlid
1 fresh water baracuda
cant any of them to eat any pelets or flakes
the 2 pikes will eat blood worms
homemade beef heart
but the baracuda wont

if they are already full grown. its alot trickier to get them on pellets. i found all the ones ive have have always excepted krill or mysis shrimp.

juvies are easy, ive always found that them watching other fish eat pellets helps them identify the pellets are food.

I've had about 20 FW Barracuda at my store...not a single one would look at anything that wasn't a feeder fish. I even tried ghost shrimp with no luck. Not sure on the pikes, sorry!

I have a cincta that goes nuts for pellets so they will eat them. It may just take some time. I have a lent that will only take pellets sparingly so I supplement with market shrimp to keep him healthy. I kinda depends on how long you are willing to starve to try to get them to switch.
