mines very young maybe 3 inches my belly crawler devours massivore. my sax he kinda stares at it I know the lfs had him on live shrimp. im cichlid gold for my sax.

Just starve it a few days and only offer a few pellets at a time. It will come around rather quick. Once it starts it will be tough for other fish to get any food at all. Enjoy this time you have while it won't eat.

Thought I'd revive this thread since I'm having a similar problem. I've tried switching my sax over to pellets but after 3 or 4 weeks it still hasn't eaten. Before this he was eating frozen blood worms and brine shrimp

Just try soaking the pellets in the defrosting of the blood worms and then to feed.

Uruguyan saxatalis-types will eat pellets, worms, whatever. When we collect them, we use minnow traps with chunks of bread inside. They'll eat that as well!
