I am wondering if different species of corys will school? I currently have 2 emerald green corys (which arent technically corys) and they swim around together all the time. I haven't had any luck lately with my LFS carrying the same size emerald green corys as mine, but I have seen some nice looking corys.

I am wondering if I introduce a different type of cory, will the different type of cory hang out with my emerald greens?

Should i just wait until my LFS gets some larger emerald greens and keep the school the same species.

in such small numbers, and with single individuals os a species it seems they might then.

I've read that larger groups (7+) of different species of cory's school in species specific groups.
I've even heard of large groups of the same species dividing up into 2 or 3 groups in the same tank.

Guess it depends on ur tank conditions and how safe ur cory's feel !

I have julii's and albinos (aeneus) in a 29g and they don't mix at all. I don't think they dislike each other -- I think it's just a matter of lifestyle preference. The julii's are "indoor" cories, while the albinos are "outdoor".

on occasion my 3 salt and peppers will break away and swim crazily together leaving the others but for the most part they stick with each other, I originally had 6 salt and peppers but lost some when i moved to a new apartment, they definitely schooled "tighter" than my current mix
