Hi guys,

I have 3 FH in a tank (they were donated to me and will be separated soon).

The big FH which usually chases a small FH suddenly is friends. The big FH is clearing rocks. My question:

Would he clear rocks if the other two were males? Or, is this a sign that they're a mating pair and he's clearing rocks?

Thanks.

I'll upload a video in a moment. Is anyone here from the SoCal area that has experience? I can give you some fry if it works out. I've had Oscars lay eggs that never hatched (all eaten) so I'm a bit worried right now about how to successfully hatch the fry.

Lol, thats funny. SoCal is the epicenter of fish in the US so you would be hard pressed to not find someone.

I've had a large Texas hybred clearing rocks and only allowing a smaller flowerhorn in the area for months and nada. But good luck man can't wait to see pictures.

Hi guys, thanks for the messages. Here is the video. What do you guys think? Hopefully the red will come out in a few of the fry. I have a few questions in case anyone experienced can help:

1. I bought methylene today-- do I put that in before or after? I plan to leave the FH's in the tank (instead of artificial incubation).

2. I plan to remove the parent fish so that they don't eat the babies. How soon after the eggs are laid (or what signs) do I remove the parent fish?

3. Will the pair now be able to live together peacefully in a tank? Or, will they have to remain separate in the future?

1. i have no clue
2. i waould remove them after the are wigglers
3. might have to separate them
