Will flagtails eat duckweed?

I'm curious, will flagtail eat duckweeds?
i have a flagtail in my pond , not sure if duckweed will offer any benefit for him? like being his food?

btw i have a 17 inch Flagtail in my pond, can i add an 8 inch one?
or most likely it'll get killed?

Not much success with my flagtails. All of them preferred to suck on the tankmates than to be an algae cleaner.
