Just wondering, if I put lots of little goldfish for its food, would gar finish all of them off? I don't want them eat to death. Easier to put lots of goldfish at once rather than one by one.

Feeding them goldfish is feeding them Thiaminase, a destroying hormone.
So yes, in a sense they are feeding to their death.

gars will not feed themselves to death once they are beyond about 4-6".

although goldfish are not necessarily healthy for gars, your statement on them "feeding to their death" is incorrect. thiaminase may have long-term effects on the fish, but this can likely be offset by gut-loading the feeders with the right pellets, etc. feeding a young gar goldfish to get it to certain size isn't the best way to raise it, but it's not going to kill it either.--
