Will Florida Gars get more active as they get older/bigger?

My florida gars are about 8 inches now.. they mainly float at the top or sit at the bottom.

will they get more active? how do you guys get them to be more active

Feeding time. Always makes a fish get more active.

They get less active as they get older. As already pointed out, feeding time is when they become more active.

thanks guys.. i love my florida gars.. they are like dolphins ^^ just wish they were more active.. i guess they will be as i'm weaning them unto pellets now.. feeding time gets them active

i had pretty good luck in switching my largest gar over to pellets the smaller ones showed little or no interest in them. i no longer have the first group of florida gars i had but i have 6 of them coming wednesday from snookn21 on here and i am looking forward to having them again.
