Hey all,

I've got a couple of little gators in a growout, but they're starting to get to the point where they're getting a bit large for it and are probably near ready for my big tank. I figure they'll be in there in a month or two.

I've already got an 10'' or so Florida floating around in there. Will the addition of the gators likely cause fighting? I'm aware of course that eventually the gators will be too big to be kept with the Florida.

Thanks!

I ended up moving the gator because it was eating too many fish and I was worried it might choke on one. Tried to eat a Clarius walking catfish and I had to net both to get the catfish out of its mouth.

It is in the 52k now and lives peacefully with an equal sized (length) long nose gar (both are between 37" and 40").

Sex of the fish might also determine aggression. The long nose acts like a male and the gator as a female.

The gator has a few battle scars from my Wallago leerii female trying to eat it. The barb in the pic with it is 26" long.

There is a smaller male Wallago (about 48") in the pic swimming below the long nose.

The concrete wall the Wallago female is swimming over is 12" wide and 48" high.
