Will freezing feeders before feedings kill parasites

I don't know the answer. I do know that frozen feeders is what got my Cichla on frozen shrimp though.

Yeah i have some of my fish eating shrimp and fish fillets but i like giving feeders once in awhile but im looking for a safe way to feed them feeders without having to medicate.

I quaranteen my feeders in a large plastic (recycling type) bin for three days minimum. Use conditioned water of course. Run an airstone. Treat with Ma. Green for three days. Discard any dead during treatment. Do a massive water change on fourth day. I then treat water fill with mild soluble copper salt and have had zero problems to date.

Never mix batches of feeders until fully treated, or different species at all! I generally run at least two sometimes three feeder bins simultaneously. Minnows should always be kept seperate from goldfish, and can withstand a slightly stronger (still mild though!) soluble copper solution.

On a side note, when feeding certain species (ie. Clown Knife, Bichirs, eels) live be careful with Mal. Green. Use a mild 1 -> 1.5 tsp/ gallon Aquarium salt & mild soluble copper salt solution for 3 days then reduce to same as above on fourth day. Wait until fith day for using these feeders for the above mentioned types of fish.

Look at it this way, live feeders are to predatory fish as poon is to predatory men! There is no denying that Nookie can be dangerous and lethal while inflatable latex is perfectly safe, but there is no comparison in the overall satisfaction value!
